Shizuka Arakawa: enjoy your gold medal while you can

Shizuka Arakawa gold medal olympics skating

Shizuka Arakawa has a big smile now that she's won an unexpected gold medal in the skating Winter Olympics. Just skating along, as if she doesn't have a care in the world...

She better enjoy it while she can...

Due to global warming, "ice" skating might soon turn into "slush" skating as Olympic hopefuls around the world are forced to take up new, more summer-y sports. You heard it here first.

Is Bush intentionally melting the Greenland ice cap?

The Greenland Ice Cap is melting, and at a rate of over an inch per month. Within a dozen years, this could raise the sea level over 12 feet.

Imagine that.

New York would be flooded. So, to would be Los Angeles - including my beloved Brentwood. Baltimore? Gone. Atlanta? Gone too. Practically every coastal city would be wiped out, and all because of George Bush's refusal to sign the Kyoto Accords.

But, that's not all he's done.

He has also gagged top scientists trying to tell us the truth. Like, Jim Hansen from NASA. Bush has continually tried to get him to keep quiet about global warming so that Bush's corporate backers can continue to rake in the big bucks.

Mr. Bush, it will not work. Do not flood Baltimore and the other cities. Please sign Kyoto before it's too late.

Kimmie Meissner, Olympics, and the truth

kimmie meissner olympics

Kimmie Meissner is a figure skater in the 2006 Winter Olympics. As you can see above, she's quite the patriot. Or, at least a patriot in the Bu$hian style. Put down the flag and the credulous smile, Kim. Just put it down and think for yourself for a moment.

How could anyone celebrate this country considering all that we have done during the $hrub administration? How could anyone feel pride displaying our flag which has been stained by the actions of our "wartime leader"? Even worse, she's wearing an ad for a clothing company in the photo above, together with an ad for our occupiers and invaders in her hand.

No, not for me.

This year, I will not be cheering for America in the Olympics.

I will be cheering for our victims in the competition. There are over 85 countries competing, including Albania, Algeria, China, North Korea, and Venezuela.

I will be cheering for them.

Jackie Johnson of KCAL

Jackie Johnson is the weather "girl" at KCAL 9 TV in Los Angeles, and this picture shows her qualifications for this important job:

KCAL9 used to be owned by Disney, as these pics show. They're also affiliated with KCBS. Yes, that's right: CBS. The same honored network that gave us Edward R. Morrow and Zeke Whittle's protege Walter Cronkite.

Jackie says she's a "journalist" because she's "fascinated by weather". Well, I'm more than just "fascinated" by the coming global warming crisis, and I know that this so-called meteorologist (more like a "weathergirl") will never tell us about it. She should just pose for Playboy and leave the "journalism" to those who have different talents:
